What is a Meal Plan?
A Meal Plan unlocks delicious meals, coffee, snacks, and more, at 11 locations across campus. Your Meal Plan includes Meal Swipes and Dining Dollars, conveniently loaded onto your Viking Card ID. No need to carry additional cards or cash!
Am I Required to Have a Meal Plan?
All students living on campus (residential students), with a signed housing contract are required to have a meal plan each semester. All residential students will be assigned the White All Access Meal Plan (the default plan) and can make change up until the add/drop period each semester. While it is not mandated that commuters have a meal plan, they may enjoy the convenience and value of purchasing a meal plan.
Are Faculty and Staff Eligible to Sign Up for a Meal Plan?
Yes! Faculty and Staff can purchase a meal plan through our website under Community Meal Plans.
How Much Does a Meal Plan Cost?
Prices vary by plan and are listed here. Viking Food Co. is very sensitive to parent and student financial needs and continues to work to ensure pricing is competitive with other universities in Ohio.
What is CSU Guarantee?
We’re one of Ohio’s most competitively priced universities. Now, thanks to the CSU Guarantee, you’ll be better positioned to manage the costs associated with completing your degree because our rates are guaranteed for four years for new freshmen beginning Fall 2018. The program also applies to eligible new undergraduate transfer students — the transfer guarantee period is a proportional period of time based on the student’s transferrable credits.

How Do I Sign Up?
Meal Plans can be purchased at here. Meal plan options are categorized as Residential Meal Plans and Community Meal Plans.
How Do I Pay for My Meal Plan?
For students living on campus, Residential meal plans will be billed to your CSU account. Community Meal Plans may be purchased online by credit/debit or may be invoiced to your student account.
Can I Change My Meal Plan?
Yes, however changes may not be made after the add/drop period closes (1st 14 days of term).
How Do I Change My Meal Plan?
To change your meal plan, log into your Housing Self-Service account: https://www.csuohio.edu/residence-life/housing-self-service-portal. You are limited to two meal plan changes per semester, prior to the add/drop period. All website purchases for CSU Community Meal Plans are considered to be final.
Will My Meal Plan Automatically Renew for the Next Semester?
Residential meal plans are two-semester contracts. If you sign up in the fall, you will automatically be enrolled for spring. If you signed up for your meal plan in the spring, you will not automatically enroll for fall. All Community meal plans are one semester contracts and will not be automatically renewed.
What are Meal Swipes?
Meal Swipes give you access to our all-you-care-to-eat dining hall, Viking Marketplace located in the Student Center.
What are Dining Dollars?
Dining Dollars may be used for purchases at any on-campus dining retail location, dining hall or convenience store. Dining Dollars are funds students, faculty or staff load to their Viking Card. All purchases made with Dining Dollars are tax free. Dining Dollars may also be used at the Wolstein Center for all events, excluding alcoholic beverages.
Will Unused Meal Swipes Roll Over to the Next Semester
No, unused Meal Swipes do not roll over, they will expire on the last day of each semester.
Will my Dining Dollars Expire?
Any unused Dining Dollars from fall semester will carry over to the spring semester. Unused Dining Dollars expire on the last day of exams, spring semester.
Can I Add Dining Dollars if I Run Out?
Yes, Dining Dollars may be purchased here. A minimum of $25 is required when purchasing Dining Dollars.
How Do I Check My Balance/Usage?
Students can view their meal plan balance on every transaction receipt or ask a cashier in our dining location or visit here.
What If I Have a Food Allergy or Dietary Restriction?
Students with food restrictions may contact us at dining@csuohio.edu to set up an appointment to speak to our Campus Executive Chef and discuss more options around campus.
Students with severe food allergies will need to register with the Office of Disability and go through a 3-step process to determine if they are eligible for a meal plan release.

How Long Does It Take for My Meal Plan to Load on My Viking Card?
Please allow 72 hours for your meal plan to activate in the system once you make your purchase.
